I really enjoyed this restaurant named after a German-American film director. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. The place was clean and aesthetically pleasing.
The reason to make a stop over in Berlin was to pick up my daughter after a week-long writing course and bring her to Copenhagen. I chose this venerable Berliner restaurant since it was midway between her air B&B and my hotel and also since their menu suited our taste, ox cheek for me and pike perch for Olivia. Cooking was perfect and service by our French, perfectly German speaking waiter was impeccable. The wine lists is particularly rich in various wines by the glass. As usual when in Germany we drank local, a Grauburgunder for Olivia and a Spätburgunder for me, both of good quality. Overall good value for money. Highly recommended!
impecable service and a lovely small menu. yellow beetroot soup was lovely and the meatballs with caper Sauce was excellent. wine by the glass was varied and good quality price ratio.
